Concept and design
Sidney Nolan’s most striking portraits of soldiers are the central element for the exhibition identity. Graphics and typography convey a reverence and a level of refinement befitting works of such significance. The colour palette draws from the work: the deep blue of the sea; the dark red of the battlefield; and the brown of soldier’s uniforms. Poignant quotes by Sidney Nolan are used throughout the exhibition to voice Nolan’s lament on Gallipoli.
